Based on race sessions. All drivers start with 1500 skill points. Points are based on the Elo rating system. Skill points are calculated by win/lose for every driver versus the others (like if they are competing 1on1). Beating a very skilled driver will earn more points. A driver can gain many points by beating someone, but will lose much less for losing. This makes sure drivers who participate in more races are more likely to score higher on the chart — the elo calculation uses a k-factor of 1 for the losing participant, and for the winning a k-factor of [driver-number-of-races-with-laps-until-current-session] + ([driver-number-of-first-place-finishes-until-current-session] * 2). Thus first place finishes are awarded the highest k-factor.
